What is Substance Abuse?

Substance abuse can take many forms. Usually, it is when someone takes illegal drugs, or when someone takes prescription medications, alcohol or other legal substances in a way that interferes with their daily life, even putting them in danger.

The good news is that there is supportive, non-judgmental help for those who struggle with substance abuse. If you’re struggling, speak with your healthcare provider or pharmacist about your need for help and support. They will refer you to a program that can help.
