Our health is not just connected to our diet, our movement and our genetics. When we connect socially with others, it significantly improves our well-being.

Walking to Wellness is an initiative of Prime Time for Women, where adults of all ages gather weekly, hear from a health care expert or inspirational speaker and then go for a one-mile walk. Supported by the Washington County Health Department and other members of Healthy Washington County, the program just celebrated a one-year anniversary of exercise and connection.

Weekly walks take place at the Athletic, Recreation and Community Center or ARCC on the campus of Hagerstown Community College starting at noon on Wednesdays. Participants walk at their own pace on the indoor track.

Walkers may not know each other when they join Walking to Wellness, but will soon laugh, celebrate, talk and walk and become a community of friends.

So, lace up your sneakers, make your way to the ARCC at HCC on Wednesdays at noon and do something great for your physical and emotional health!
